Nordic Escapes was founded by a photographer with over 15 years of experience. Inspired by the beauty of Lapland’s Arctic landscapes and the magic of the Northern Lights, this journey evolved into a passion-driven mission to share the region’s natural wonders with others and ultimately led to calling Lapland home.

Through years of dedication to photography and countless nights spent chasing the Northern Lights, it became clear that during the peak of winter in Lapland, especially in Rovaniemi, there are periods when the night skies remain completely overcast across the region.
This challenge inspired the founder, a passionate photographer, to develop a deep understanding of Arctic weather patterns and solar activity, refining the ability to locate clear skies and time the Aurora at its most active possible.
Over years of experience, this knowledge was tested and proven, laying the foundation for a business focused on offering travelers the best possible chance of witnessing the Northern Lights.
Today, Nordic Escapes continues with that same mission, creating unforgettable aurora experiences with care, precision and passion, while also offering a variety of outdoor activities throughout Lapland’s winter, summer and autumn seasons.
